Chinese Boxwood Dice
Chinese Boxwood's color tends to be a light cream to yellow, which tends to darken slightly with prolonged exposure to light. Sapwood not distinct from heartwood. It’s a shame that the term “Boxwood” has become so convoluted and confused in modern times, as there seems to be one particular wood species that has historically been associated with the name Boxwood: Buxus sempervirens. It is this species that can be considered the original, genuine boxwood.
Boxwood’s ability to hold crisp details in carvings and lathe work, in combination with its color and silky-fine texture truly make it a classic.
Our wood range of dice are crafted using CnC machines to achieve perfection in shape. After crafting our wood dice are treated with a clear varnish once to maintain as close a look to natural as possible while giving your set of dice a longer life. We engrave all our dice based on centre of gravity. It is harder to achieve a perfect weighting with wood, but we are happy to say they are more precise than plastic, and we believe them to be the most perfectly weighted wooden dice made to date. All our dice are made from responsibly-sourced wood (Sourced using all appropriate government guidelines).
